Powers: Mountjoy is a shape-stealer, who can take a form in one of two ways. First, he can "ride" a host body for a period of time, during which he has control over their actions and access to their memories (and powers). Eventually he digests the host into himself, so this cannot be done indefinitely. The other way is for Mountjoy to simply absorb his victims directly into himself, providing him with energy and their memories. This action is not instantaneous, and there is a span of time during which it it possible to divest Mountjoy of his victims, but once they are digested completely, they are gone for good. |

History: Born nearly 100 years in the future, Mountjoy was riding a criminal when Fitzroy opened his escape portal to our time. He then jumped hosts, escaping termination by Bishop and his team. After regaining his strength, Mountjoy attempted to kill Bishop, absorbing some of the X-Men in the process. Bishop beat Mounjoy and made him divest his teammates, but Mountjoy himself escaped. Mountjoy next appeared in London, where he was involved in the Hellfire Club's plot to release a demon from its crypt and gain power from it. After that failure, Mountjoy was revealed to have been riding Scribe, the London HC recorder, by Madelyne Pryor, who somehow pulled him bodily out of his host. Mountjoy supposedly reappeared during the Fall of 2000 working yet again for the Hellfire Club, although this time, the New York branch. He revilled himself during the fight for a moment as he took over Polaris, and killed both her and Havok at the fall. It is rumoured that he works now for Selene, the Hellfire Black Queen, but this is unconfirmed. His definite whereabouts are currently unknown. |
