| History: December 31st, 1969 Tristan Darrien Lehnsherr was born into the world of Darkness. His birth was the first hint that the oldest Lehnsherr would have a rough life. Estela had been an Acolyte of Magneto's for sometime when the two fell in love and married in secret. Tristan's birth was accident, and when Estela learned she was pregnant, Magneto was less then thrilled. Finally the secret had to be shattered and the marriage was revealed. The Acolytes seemed to take it fairly well at face value, in front of the lord and savior. But behind the back of Magneto, even to Estela, they ridiculed her. Tore her to shreds, and cursed the unborn child as the one who would make the savior fall. |
| When Tristan was born, Magneto would have nothing to do with the child. Thinking of him as an inconvience to his well layed out plans, as well as disrupting the faith of his Acolytes. Estela was often found hiding Tristan from Magneto at times, and watching out for him as best she could. Shortly after Tristan's birth, the rest of the Lehnsherr siblings came into the world. Though Magneto seemed to love the rest, especially the youngest daughter for some strange reason, Tristan was left as the outcast. He was often beat up by the Acolytes when his mother was not looking. |
| The Acolytes continued to rip at there once comrade, now wife of their savior until she could no longer take it. She left in the middle of the night with Daryl, the only child she managed to grab before she was discovered and almost didn't escape because of. Tristan felt betrayed, and now at 10 was alone. |
| Magneto was infuriated with Estela's abrupt departure and blamed Tristan for the entire misery. Believing the boy was weak, he called upon Exodus to take him away to Genosha, and teach him the meaning of the word pain. Exodus was only happy to comply, and thus came the fate of Tristan. |
| Tristan had a special relationship with his at-the-time two year old sister Lily. He vowed always to watch out for her, and to one day come back to save her from their father. Lily never really understood any of it, being that she was two, but the day Tristan left, Magneto could not get her to stop crying. |
| Tristan and Exodus arrived in Genosha, and Exodus began to work with his new student. Exodus was driven mad by his passion for Magneto's cause, that he saw the boy as the one who could over throw Magneto and lead the Acolytes to their true destiny. In essence, he pushed and was relentless with Tristan. During those years, Tristan was beaten without mercy, as Exodus tried to awaken his Magnetic powers he believed he had. This would continue until Tristan turned 16. |
| When he was 13, Tristan began to get headaches, and images would fill his mind. He slowly began to block out his past, except for his sister Lilian, still vowing to come for her. The thing that plagued his mind more than anything, however, was revenge against his father. Tristan grew cold, uncaring, and began to school his face to show no pain and take it, except when in private. |
| At 16, Exodus was fed up waiting for Tristan to become the next master of magnetism and began the roughest beating of Tristan's life. Intent on killing the boy for being a faliure, he unleashed his own psi-vampire abilities. Unfortunately for Exodus, Tristan's power had manifested and in defense had unleashed a full force blow on Exodus mind. Exodus began to relive the horrors of not only his life, but Tristan's. Lying almost dead, Tristan reached for the sword he had been training with and stabbed it through Exodus's heart before passing out. |
| Tristan awoke in his own blood beside the fallen body of Exodus. Knowing his father, and the rest of the Acolytes would learn about his death, Tristan went on the run, leaving the shack that was his home for 6 years, vowing to someday kill his father. Tristan had no control over his mutant power, and really didn't thrill at the idea of being able to know other's thoughts. His only assest was his ability to fight with extreme power and passion, so he joined the Outlaw Fighting Rings of Genosha. |
| He fought without mercy, earning the nickname of the Darkness. Those he fought with in the ring called him dangerous, deadly, and perhaps the most skilled fighter they had ever fought with. Tristan earned little money doing this, only enough to barely eat, and to afford a little apartment. It was later learned the slavers who owned the fighting rings had been confiscating all the funds from the fights. Tristan lead the fighters to rebellion, and the slavers to their death. |
| Now with more money then he had ever had in his entire life, and no idea what to do with it, he booked a passage to Japan, in order to learn more fighting skills. Revenge for his father, still the number one priority in his life. It was in Japan, that he met Sensai Yoshamara who took the boy under his wing, teaching him humility and some of the forbidden arts. Tristan's emotions ruled his life, and Yoshamara taught him how to use his anger, his urge for revenge, and how to keep them from running his life. Tristan also learned how to use every weapon known to man, and had a thirst for more. In effects, what would later be known as Hellfire Enterprises had begun. |
| He was 19 when he walked into the dojo and found Sensai Yoshamara's body lying on the ground murdered. No evidence of who had done it or why, but Tristan vowed to one day also have revenge for his sensai. |
| Driven by Rage, Anger, and Scarred childhood, Tristan cared little for anyone or anything. He grew cold and cynical, and began to focus all his attention on building Hellfire Enterprises...using his mutant talent to get him the money nessecary. This attracted the attention of Sebastian Shaw who invited Tristan to join the notorious Hellfire Club. |
| Shaw saw the potential in Tristan, and the two became fast friends, building up the empire so that no one could crush it. By 21, Tristan Darrien Lehnsherr was a multi-millionaire. It caught the outlaw hero's, the X-Men's, attention and they flew to Japan to investigate. Along with the X-Men, was what would be Tristan's second chance, Arianna. |
| The two met, and instantly hit it off. Arianna fell in love with Tristan, seeing there was something inside of him past the anger and revenge. Tristan, who was cynical on love, was intrigued by Arianna. Tristan desire for revenge began to dissolve as he fell for Arianna. |
| Shaw seeing that his protage was falling in his determination, as well as being too ambitious, decided to get rid of him, that he was no longer needed. On Tristan's 25th birthday, New Year's eve Party, and opening of Hellfire Enterprises of Japan, Shaw enlisted a hitter to take out Tristan on the dance floor with Arianna. The shooter mistimed and the bullet went haywire. Tristan enraged raced after the assassin and slaughtered him, keeping his head as a souvenir. He knew Shaw was behind the assassination attempt, but kept it to himself, and waited for the oppertunity for payback. |
| Tristan spent the next 9 years concentrating on Hellfire Enterprises, traveling the world and setting up new offices. In Wales he met a woman by the name of Elizabeth Gamin. The two became friends, though neither would admit it. Elizabeth helped out with Hellfire Enterprises and searched for his long lost sister Lilian. |
| It was when he was 30 did he finally receive the call from Elizabeth that his sister had been found. He immediately booked his jet to New York and walked into the Five Aces Nightclub, where for the first time in 21 years he met his youngest sister Lilian. She introduced him to Daryl, and Gabriel...the siblings were once again a family. Tristan, determined not to lose them again, set up his main office in New York, where he now lives in a palace just outside Manhatten, despite his increase in rank from the Black Bishop of the Hellfire Club to their esteemed White King. |
| Shortly thereafter, however, Tristan would risk all that he had gained. His new found sister Lily, his renewed relationship with Daryl and Gabriel and his long-time love interest Arianna were all about to be threatened, all haunted by the ghosts from his past. In the Fall of 2000 Tristan would be the man to indeed destroy Magneto's empire. |
| On the battlefield the two met, physically locked in battle as their powers negated the other. Just as it seemed Tristan had the upper-hand and he would finally achieve the vengence he thirsted for, for so long, murdering his father, the X-Man Rogue interferred, blasting him away from Magneto. Still intent on the prize and fully aware that physically he was no match for Rogue, Tristan unleashed his power on her, effectively murdering the Southern Belle of the X-Men. It was Selene who would ultimately destroy Magneto ... and Tristan's family. |
| His relationships with the Lehnsherr family, Lily in particular, never really recovered after the Fall of 2000 mostly because he was responsible for their father's death. Arianna, too, could not seem to find it in her heart to understand how he could destroy her friends and his own family. Ever the man of business, Tristan's Hellfire Enterprises became his life. |
| Moreover, in recent times, it has been revealed that Tristan had hired the mutant Sabretooth, putting him in charge of the Special Forces team of Hellfire Enterprises, dismissing Elizabeth Gamin as the head. Odd as it were, Elizabeth was put in charge of "body-guard" duty for Tristan's nephew, Erik. Stranger still is the burning hatred between Sabretooth and Tristan's sister, Lilian. He also, apparently, has some sort of connection to the Sentinals, the extent of which is unknown at present. When questioned on his motives, he will simply smile and answer you with silence... |
